[About the Examinations]
- Results of the tests included in the Basic Course will be explained to you on the day of your visit. For complete results, please refer to the final report that will be mailed to you at a later date.
- Patients undergoing upper gastrointestinal endoscopy or colonoscopy who have undergone biopsy are asked to refrain from traveling abroad or to remote areas (medically underpopulated areas), drinking alcohol, and strenuous exercise for three days after the biopsy.
- Due to the physical burden of endoscopy, there are age restrictions on patients who can undergo the procedure. As a general rule, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy is available for patients up to 85 years of age, and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy is available for patients up to 80 years of age.
- For safety reasons, as a rule, sedatives are not used for patients over 80 years of age, as the medication may cause prolonged dizziness and reduced awareness, affecting their ability to return home safely.
- To ensure the safety of our elderly patients, there may be instances where we need to consult with you in advance regarding changes to the examination content.
- The program may be cancelled due to infectious disease conditions.
[On the day of the Examination]
- When attending the appointment, please understand that if you exhibit symptoms of poor health, the doctor may decide to postpone some of the examinations or the entire check-up.
- Please note that the end time may vary depending on the day's circumstances and the examination content, so please schedule an appointment on a day when you have ample time.
- Please adhere to the regulations of Keio University Hospital during your visit.
- Children are not allowed to accompany you to the clinic.

Limitations of Testing
At our Center, we strive to conduct tests with the highest possible accuracy. However, it is important to recognize that every test has its limitations, and no test can guarantee absolute certainty of normalcy. If a test result indicates "normal" but you experience any symptoms or changes in your condition after the visit, we encourage you to promptly consult with us or seek medical attention elsewhere. Additionally, some small abnormalities may only be detected through repeated testing. Therefore, regular check-ups are strongly recommended.
